One Brewine machine is carried here, and it earns its counter space in a Maldivian kitchen: the BCSCP22 electric coconut scraper with a citrus press on top. The motor takes over the scraping that a hand grater and a lot of patience normally handle, and the press head deals with limes and oranges.

It is worth being plain about what this is. The name suggests drinks machines; the unit is a food prep tool, coconut first and juice second. If you cook often enough that grating by hand is the bottleneck in the evening, a motor solves it. If a coconut comes out once a month, a hand scraper is still the simpler thing to own and store.
