Philips kettles, 1.2L and 1.7L
Two Philips jugs sit on this page: the 1.2L Kettle 3000 Series - HD9303 and the double-walled 1.7L Electric Kettle 5000 Series - HD9395/90. Both lift off a cordless base, so the jug can go to the table and come back without threading a cable past the sink.
Capacity is the whole decision. A 1.2L jug boils a smaller volume and gets there sooner, which suits one or two cups at a time; the 1.7L earns its counter space in a house that fills a flask every morning. The double wall on the 5000 Series keeps the outer body cooler to hold, worth having if small hands come near the counter.

- HD9395/90 — the 1.7L 5000 Series with a double-walled body
- Cordless jug and base on both, so pouring is one-handed
- Descale every few weeks; scale on the element is what shortens a kettle
- Never switch on an empty jug
