Remote controls at Night Owl
Handsets go missing, get sat on, or stop working after something is spilled into them. This is where the replacements live, including the Amaz TV remote, so that a perfectly good television does not end up as a wall ornament.
Before replacing anything, rule out the cheap causes. Fit a fresh pair of cells and clean the contacts inside the battery compartment. Then point the handset at a phone camera and press a button: if the lamp at the front flashes on screen, it is still transmitting and the fault lies elsewhere. If it really is dead, note the number printed on the back of the old handset and the model on the rear panel of the set before ordering.
- Replacement handsets for televisions
- Check the number on the old remote and the label on the set
- Test with a phone camera to confirm the infrared has stopped
- A universal handset needs its setup code entered before it will drive anything
