Four irons, sized to two different appetites. The Jamaky JMK2020 is a mini maker that heats quickly and turns out one waffle at a time, which is the right machine for one or two people. The Sonifer SF-6084 and SF-6185 are the usual household size, and the Geepas GWM5417 cooks four at once for a table of people.

The plates decide what comes out. Deep pockets give you the thick Belgian waffle that holds syrup; shallower plates make the thinner, crisper sort that stacks well and cooks faster. Whichever you pick, let the iron come up to heat before the first pour, and wipe the plates while they are still warm, because batter sets hard once everything cools down.
