Amaz is a cooling brand here before it is anything else. The split air conditioners come in three capacities, 12000BTU, 18000BTU and 24000BTU, all of them inverter units. Beside them sit a pair of small electronics: the AL06191 compact speaker and a replacement TV remote, which is the sort of thing you come in for once the original has stopped answering.

Sizing the air conditioner

Capacity is a measurement of the room, not a comfort setting. As a rough guide, 12000BTU handles a bedroom, 18000BTU a sitting room, and 24000BTU is for a large or open-plan space, a room under a flat roof, or one that takes the afternoon sun on two walls. Go under and the compressor never gets a rest; go too far over and the room chills without the air being dried, which is the clammy feeling people usually blame on the unit itself.
