Blue Sky chest freezers, size by size

Six cabinets, and the ladder reads straight off the model codes: BD100Q at 100L, BD200Q at 200L, SD239Y at 240L, BD360Q and SD360Y at 360L, and BD600Q at 600L. The BD codes are hard-top boxes; the two SD models are glass-top display freezers.

Pick the top before the capacity. A hard lid holds cold better and doubles as bench space, which is what most kitchens actually need. Glass earns its place where somebody has to see the contents without lifting anything, so it belongs at a counter rather than in a store room. Leave a hand-width gap around whichever you choose, because the cabinet sheds its heat through the sides.

  • Hard-top: BD100Q, BD200Q, BD360Q and BD600Q
