How to choose

Buy the smallest body you will genuinely fill. A kettle draws much the same current whatever is inside it, so boiling 1.7L for a single cup of tea wastes both time and electricity, and a 1L body comes to the boil noticeably sooner. Step up only if the kettle serves several people at once or tops up a flask. Glass asks for one habit in return: limescale shows on it, so descale every few weeks and it stays clear.
