LG Air Conditioners at Night Owl
Two LG inverter splits sit on this page: the 9000BTU S4N/S4UQ09WA5QA and the 12000BTU US-Q12ENXE/CNXE, which is the 1 TON size. Both are wall-mounted systems, an indoor head paired with an outdoor condenser and joined by a copper line that an installer runs through the wall.
Sizing the room
BTU is cooling capacity, not a quality rating. A 9000BTU head handles an ordinary bedroom; step up to 12000BTU for a sitting room, a room with afternoon sun on the glass, or one that opens onto the kitchen. Undersizing is the usual mistake, because the unit then runs flat out and never reaches the temperature you set.
- 9000BTU for a bedroom or a small office
- 12000BTU, the 1 TON size, for a living room or a larger bedroom
- Inverter compressors ramp up and down instead of cycling on and off
- The outdoor unit needs a wall bracket and a clean fall on the drain
