All three LG washers here are the same front-load body in three drum sizes: 7KG in the FHB1207Z2M, 8KG in the FHB1208Z2M and 9KG in the FHB1209Z2M. Front loaders tumble the wash through a shallow bath instead of agitating it, so they draw less water per cycle and are gentler on cotton and synthetics.

Which drum size

Rate the drum by your biggest wash rather than your average one. 7KG covers the weekly laundry of one or two people. 8KG is the family-of-four size. 9KG is the one to take if bedsheets, towels and a duvet cover go in together. A half-empty drum on a large machine costs you nothing, while an overpacked small one leaves detergent behind in the clothes.
