A wall fan bolts up above head height and throws air across a room without eating any floor, which is why it ends up in shopfronts, workshops and bedrooms where a pedestal would be underfoot. Most oscillate, tilt and run on three speeds.
Mounting height decides the rest. High over a doorway suits a shop; lower and angled down suits a bed. Check the bracket can bite into concrete or a timber batten, and that the guard comes apart for cleaning — salt air films the blades quickly.
