Countertop machines that make ice from a tank you fill by hand rather than from a plumbed water line, so they can sit anywhere there is a socket. Three tank sizes: YTE002A at 1.1L, YTE005A at 2.2L and YTE006A at 2.5L. Pour the water in, let the machine cycle, and the cubes drop into a basket you scoop from. Nothing to install and nothing to drill.

How to choose

Tank size sets how long the machine runs before somebody tops it up; it is not a measure of how much ice you can hold. The basket is not a freezer, so cubes slowly melt back into the tank and get frozen again. A 1.1L tank is enough beside a desk or in a small kitchen. For a shop counter or a party, take 2.2L or 2.5L and bank the cubes in a lidded box in the freezer as they come out.
