Hisun Rice Cookers
Rice cookers sized to the household
Hisun rice cookers run from a 1L pot to a 10L drum, which covers everything from one person's dinner to cooking for a function. The digital trio, HSR-D1-10-W at 1L, HSR-D1-12-C at 1.2L and HSR-D1-18-S at 1.8L, swap the single lever for a control panel. HT36 at 3.6L, HT80 at 8L and the 10L drum are the plain cook-and-keep-warm cookers, and the 2.2L two-pot model sits in the middle of the ladder.
How to choose
Capacity is quoted as the volume of the pot rather than the cooked rice, so the usable amount is roughly half what the number suggests. A 1L or 1.2L pot feeds one or two; 1.8L to 3.6L is the family range; 8L and 10L belong in a guest house kitchen or a shop. Buying too large is the common mistake, because a small measure of rice cooks badly in a wide pot where the water sits shallow.
- 1L, 1.2L and 1.8L digital models with a control panel
- 3.6L, 8L and 10L cookers with a cook and keep-warm switch
- Inner pot lifts out and the lid comes clear for washing
- Keep-warm holds the rice at serving temperature after cooking
