DSP Handheld Vacuum Cleaner - KD2054

The DSP KD2054 is a cordless handheld vacuum built for the jobs a full-size machine is too clumsy to do — the inside of a car, a sofa, a stairway, the space under a car seat where sand and crumbs collect. It pulls 5,000 Pa, which is enough to lift grit out of seat seams and carpet pile rather than simply passing over it.

Being cordless is the point. There is no lead running back to the cigarette socket and nothing to unplug when you want to reach the boot, so you can go right around a car in one go and then bring it inside for the settee. A charge gives roughly 15 minutes of running, and that figure sets expectations honestly: this is a spot cleaner you pick up for ten minutes at a time, not a replacement for the vacuum you use on the whole house.

The dust cup holds 0.5 L and is clear, so you can see what you have picked up and empty it before suction starts to drop. Behind it sits a washable HEPA filter — rinse it under the tap, let it dry completely, and put it back. Nothing about this vacuum needs a consumable, which matters more over a couple of years than any headline figure.

Two nozzles come with it. The flat crevice tool is the one you will use most: seat rails, air vents, the slot beside the handbrake, the gap between the seat and the centre console. The round brush is for surfaces you do not want to scuff — dashboard, door cards, upholstery. A small LED sits beside the nozzle, which sounds like a gimmick until the first time you are feeling around a dark footwell for whatever the children dropped.

At 65 W it is light enough to hold out in front of you with one hand while the other moves a seat or lifts a mat, and small enough to keep in the boot so it is there when you need it rather than at home in a cupboard.
