Philips 8 in 1 Multi Groomer - MG3730/15

The Philips MG3730/15 is the 8-in-1 model in the Multigroom Series 3000 — one rechargeable handle that handles the whole routine, from beard and stubble through to a full haircut and tidying up nose and ear hair.

Eight tools make up the kit. Alongside the cutting element and the nose and ear trimmer, you get an adjustable beard comb covering 3–7 mm, two stubble combs at 1 mm and 2 mm, and three hair combs at 9 mm, 12 mm and 16 mm. That spread is what separates this from a beard-only trimmer: the longer guards genuinely cut hair, so one purchase covers both jobs.

The blades sharpen themselves as they work, so they stay effective rather than going blunt after a few months. They are iron-reinforced tempered steel, and they never need oiling — there is no maintenance kit to keep buying.

A single charge gives up to 60 minutes of cordless trimming. Worth knowing before you buy: this is the Ni-MH battery generation, so a full charge takes 16 hours. Charge it the night before rather than expecting a quick top-up. It runs on automatic 100–240 V, so it works on any mains supply.

For cleaning, the cutting element and all six combs rinse straight under the tap. Brush the handle clean instead of rinsing it, and let everything dry before reassembling. A cleaning brush and a storage pouch come in the box.
