Description
The Philips BT1235/18 is the four-length model in the Beard Trimmer Series 1000 — a straightforward cordless trimmer built around one idea: getting a close trim without irritating your skin.
Two features do that work. The blades have rounded tips, so the cutting edge never presents a sharp corner to your face. And the SkinProtect comb sits between the blade and your skin, lifting the skin clear as the trimmer passes. Used on its own it gives a zero-trim finish — as short as this trimmer goes — without the blade dragging.
For length, three click-on combs cover 3 mm, 5 mm and 7 mm, adjustable in 1 mm steps. That range takes you from short stubble to a full beard, and the 32 mm cutter width means you clear the broad areas of cheek and jaw quickly rather than going over the same patch repeatedly.
A full charge takes 8 hours and gives up to 60 minutes of cordless use, with indicator lights for charging and low battery. The DuraPower power management is Philips' answer to Ni-MH batteries fading — they rate it at up to four times the life of a standard equivalent.
One thing to know before it arrives: the box has the USB-A cable but no plug adapter. Any certified USB supply will charge it, including a spare phone charger, and Philips recommends the HQ87 if you want the matching one. The combs and cutting head rinse under the tap, and a cleaning brush is included for the handle, which should be brushed rather than rinsed.
