The Philips MG3750/33 is the 10-in-1 model in the Multigroom Series 5000, and the step up from the 3000 series is real: three separate metal heads instead of one, DualCut blades, and a lithium-ion battery with a quick charge.

The three heads do different jobs. The full-size metal trimmer handles bulk work on beard and hair. The narrow detail trimmer is for edging a beard line, sideburns and the neckline, where a wide head is clumsy. The precision shaver finishes cheeks, chin and neck properly clean after you have trimmed.

Seven guards go on top of that: an adjustable beard comb covering 3–7 mm, stubble combs at 1 mm and 2 mm, hair combs at 9, 12 and 16 mm, and a separate body comb. Between them you can move from a shadow through a shaped beard to a short haircut, and take care of body grooming, without buying anything else.

DualCut means the cutting element works in two directions, so thick or longer hair gets cut in fewer passes rather than being pushed around. The blades are iron-reinforced tempered steel, self-sharpening, non-corrosive, and never need oiling.

The lithium-ion battery is the practical advantage over the cheaper Ni-MH models: 8 hours for a full charge, 60 minutes of runtime, and a 15-minute quick charge that gets it running again when you have forgotten to plug it in. It runs on automatic 100–240 V, and the heads and combs rinse under the tap — brush the handle rather than rinsing it. A storage pouch is included.
