Donut Makers at Night Owl
A donut maker is a small clamshell press with ring-shaped non-stick plates. Batter goes into the rings, the lid closes, and a few minutes later you have baked donuts rather than fried ones.
Nothing under this heading can be ordered at present. They are simple machines, so the things worth checking are how many rings a press holds, whether the wells are deep enough for a proper cake donut, and whether there is an indicator light — without one you keep lifting the lid to peek, which knocks the rise out of the batter.
- Baked rings use a fraction of the oil a fryer needs
- Non-stick plates want a silicone tool, never a metal one
- Batter piped from a squeeze bottle fills the wells more evenly
- Cord storage underneath keeps an occasional machine tidy
