Garment steamers at Night Owl
Every steamer on this page is a Philips. The Steamer 1000 Series (STH1000) is the handheld one that fits in a suitcase; the STE1010/70 at 1600W and the STE1020/40 and STE1030/20 at 1800W are the corded units you leave at home and use straight on the hanger.
Steamer or iron
A steamer relaxes the fibre rather than pressing it flat, which is why it works quickly on shirts, kurtas, curtains and anything you would rather not lay across a board. It will not put a crease down a trouser leg, so keep an iron for that. Wattage decides how soon the head makes steam and how well it holds output under continuous use, so 1800W gets going sooner than 1600W.
- Steam on the hanger with no ironing board involved
- 1600W and 1800W corded units for regular home use
- A handheld model for travel and quick touch-ups
- Fill with clean water and empty the tank after each session
