Prestige cookware and pressure cookers at Night Owl
Prestige covers the Indian side of a Malé kitchen: pressure cookers, tawas, kadais, handis and a couple of appliances. The cookers are mostly the Popular SVACHH line, running 1.5L, 2L, 3L, 4L and 5L. Flat pans include the Omni Tawa at 25cm and 28cm; the deep kadais run from 20cm up to 27cm. On the appliance side sit the Wet Grinder PWG 07 and the PRM 5 Roti Maker.
Sizing a pressure cooker
Buy for the pot you actually fill, not the biggest one on the shelf. A cooker should only be filled to about two-thirds, so 2L is a dal-for-two vessel, 3L handles most everyday cooking, and 5L is for biryani, bones and cooking when there are guests. SVACHH is the newer lid design, where a deeper rim catches the spill-over that would otherwise come through the vent and land on the hob.
