Histar air conditioners at Night Owl

Histar makes split-system air conditioners and nothing else, and Night Owl is the sole distributor for the brand in the Maldives. Three inverter units cover the usual room sizes: 9000BTU for a bedroom, 12000BTU for a sitting room, and 18000BTU for an open-plan space or a room that takes the afternoon sun on its wall.

How to choose

Size the unit to the room rather than to the budget, because an air conditioner that is too big cools the air quickly and then cuts out before it has pulled the humidity down, leaving a room that feels cold and clammy at the same time. Every unit here is an inverter, so the compressor slows to hold a temperature instead of stopping and restarting at full load, which is quieter overnight and steadier on the meter than a fixed-speed machine.
