Sandwich makers at Night Owl
Two kinds sit side by side here. Fixed-plate presses do one job: the Sharp KZ-SU11-W3 takes two slices, the Geepas GST5391 takes four, and Sonifer, Philips and Jamaky all make straightforward toastie presses. Then come the multi-plate machines — the Hisun HSM031 and HSM051, the Philips HD2350/80, Geepas up to a six-in-one — where the plates lift out and swap for grill ridges or waffle patterns.
How to choose
Be honest about the plates. A fixed press heats faster, stores flatter and has no parts to lose; a swap-plate machine only earns its space if the waffle and grill plates really leave the drawer. Either way, look for plates that lift out, or at least a hinge that opens flat, because a press you cannot reach into is a press nobody cleans.
