The SL-X5-35A adds a lit display to the Blue Sky instant range. A two-digit LED readout sits in a textured panel down the front of the unit, with three status icons beneath it — water flow, power and fault — and the temperature is set on the knob below, anywhere from 30 to 55°C.

Underneath it is the same 3500W cast aluminium element as the rest of the SL-X5 series. Water is heated on the way through, so there is no tank and nothing to reheat between showers; the unit fires once flow reaches 1 litre a minute and cuts out thermally at 60°C.

It hangs on the bathroom wall on the supplied plate with G1/2 connections, and the shower handset, hose, inlet filter and flow valve are in the box. Wire it on a 20A breaker with 2.5mm² cable from a meter rated 32A or better.
