The Prestige Select Mini Handi, article 30733, is the small pot a kitchen ends up using constantly — the one for a side dish, a single cup of rice, a portion of dhal, gravy for tonight rather than for the week. It measures 16 cm across, with the tall sides and narrow mouth that make a handi different from a saucepan: less surface area at the top means less evaporation, so a slow simmer stays saucy rather than cooking dry.
Inside it is a three-layer Teflon non-stick coating, PFOA free, rated by TTK Prestige as metal spoon friendly and extreme scratch and abrasion resistant. That combination matters more on a small pot than a large one, because a small pot gets scraped harder and washed more often. Food releases cleanly, and a burnt patch of onion comes off with a sponge instead of an hour of soaking. A scrubber made for non-stick cookware is included in the box for exactly this reason — use it and skip the steel wool.
The body is aluminium, which is what gives it its speed. Aluminium moves heat across the base almost instantly, so a small quantity of gravy will not catch in a single hot ring over the burner. The lid is stainless steel rather than glass, so there is nothing to crack when you lift a hot lid and set it on a cold counter, and it seals steam in well enough for a proper simmer.
Two things to know before you buy. First, and most important: this handi has a non-induction base. It is made for a gas stove and will not work on an induction hob — if your kitchen is induction, this is not the pot. Second, it is not dishwasher safe, and it should never meet an abrasive cleaner or a scouring pad. Hand wash it, use low to medium heat rather than a roaring flame, and the coating will outlast the pan.
One note on capacity, because you will see figures quoted elsewhere. TTK Prestige lists article 30733 by its 16 cm diameter and does not publish a litre capacity for it, so we do not quote one here.
