DSP Bodyfat Scale - KD7018

The DSP KD7018 is a digital body fat scale built on a tempered glass platform over an ABS base, rated to 180 kg.

The construction pairing is worth understanding. Toughened glass carries the load and wipes clean, while the ABS base underneath provides the rigidity. That second part is what keeps the platform from flexing under weight — and a platform that flexes gives you a different number depending on where you stand, which defeats the purpose of owning a scale.

Controls are touch rather than mechanical. In a bathroom, where humidity gets into everything, a touch sensor is simply one fewer component to seize up over a few years. The digital display is readable while you stand upright, so you are not leaning forward and shifting your weight as it settles.

The black finish is understated enough to leave out in a bathroom, and the slim profile stores upright against a wall rather than needing floor space.

One honest note, because we would rather tell you than let you assume. DSP does not publish the specific list of body composition metrics this model reports — whether it covers body fat only, or also water, muscle and bone percentages.
