The DSP 60017 is a rotary shaver with three floating heads, and the floating part is the point. Each head tilts and moves independently, so instead of a rigid plate skipping across the dips of your jaw and throat, the heads sink and lift to stay in contact. That is the reason people with awkward contours or a strong jawline usually get on better with rotary shavers than with flat foils.

A trimmer is built into the body, so lining up sideburns or squaring off a moustache does not mean reaching for a second device. Between the heads and the trimmer, it covers a normal shaving routine on its own.

The LED display shows an actual battery percentage rather than a single low-battery light. It sounds minor until you are halfway through a shave — knowing you have 40% left rather than "some" is the difference between finishing and hunting for a cable.

It is waterproof and rated for wet and dry use, so you can shave dry, shave with foam or gel, and rinse the head clean under the tap when you are done. Rinsing is the only sensible way to clean a rotary head, so this matters more here than on a trimmer. A full charge takes 2 to 3 hours and gives up to 65 minutes of shaving — for most people, several weeks between charges.

One honest note. DSP publishes an IPX figure for some models in this range but not for the 60017, so we describe it as the manufacturer does — waterproof, suitable for wet and dry use, rinse the head under the tap. We are not going to attach a specific immersion rating we cannot verify.
