Panasonic 1000W Hair Dryer - EH-ND13

The Panasonic EH-ND13 is the simplest dryer in Panasonic's range, and it is worth being straightforward about what that means. At 1000 W it is a compact everyday and travel dryer. If you have thick or long hair and want it dry fast, the 1500 W and 1800 W models in this range are the right place to look. If you want something light, cheap to run and genuinely portable, this is it.

What it does have is the quick-dry nozzle, which is the good idea Panasonic carries across the range. It combines strong and soft airflow so the hair is spread and separated as it dries, rather than hot air being pushed at a solid mass. Even drying across the whole head is what that buys you.

Three wind settings cover the work. Turbo Dry for taking out the bulk of the water, Healthy Mode for a gentler temperature once hair is nearly dry, and Strong Cool to finish — a real cool blast rather than a token button, which is what sets the style as the hair cools.

It accepts universal voltage, so it works abroad without a converter. Combined with the low weight, that makes it a sensible second dryer to leave in a suitcase rather than packing and unpacking your main one.

Three switch positions, one nozzle, nothing to learn. For a lot of people that is exactly the right amount of hair dryer.
