Philips Viva Collection 600W Juicer - HL7577/00

The Philips HL7577/00 is a stand-alone juicer from the Viva Collection: a pearl-blue jar and lid on a white 600 W base, designed to go from box to fresh juice with as little assembly as possible.

Setting it up takes three moves. Turn the Nutri-Juicer jar clockwise onto the base until it locks, press the cutter sieve down onto the coupler, then turn the lid clockwise to lock it. Feed the fruit or vegetables down the 58 mm chute with the pusher and the juice runs out of the spout into a glass. The chute is round and 58 mm across, so halve apples and cut larger produce to size before you start.

The dial on the base gives three speeds and a pulse, up to 20,000 rpm. The motor is built for endurance: Philips ran it through 1,000 kg of hard fruit and vegetables in a lab test of one minute juicing and two minutes cleaning, over and over. Overload protection guards it if it is pushed too hard, and non-slip feet keep the base from walking across the counter.

Cleaning is kept short. There are fewer parts and fewer grooves for pulp to catch in, and the accessories are dishwasher safe. The spout detaches too, and when it is fitted it swings up to stop drips between glasses. The juicer stands 338 mm tall on a 272 × 229 mm footprint and weighs 2.8 kg.
