Dessini 20CM Fry Pan

The Dessini 20 cm fry pan holds 0.8 litres and sits between the 18 cm and 22 cm sizes of the same pan: big enough for three eggs, a two-person omelette, a piece of fried fish or a pan of stir-fried vegetables. Inside, the black non-stick coating is pressed in a honeycomb pattern; outside, the pan is finished in red with fine vertical stripes.

The body is aluminium, which heats up quickly and keeps the pan light. A spiral-grooved metal plate covers the base, and the black bakelite handle stays cooler to hold than metal, with a hole at the end for hanging.

Use wooden or silicone tools rather than metal, wash it by hand with a soft sponge, and let it cool before it goes under the tap. Scratches and sudden cold water are what wear a non-stick coating out early.

Dessini lists it for gas cooktops; it is not listed for induction.
