The 1400 mm Orient Rapid Air Sweep is the big-room version of the same plain, dependable fan. It is a 56-inch sweep, and the point of that size is coverage — one fan reaching the whole of a hall or an open living and dining space, instead of two smaller fans fighting each other over the middle of the room.

It is worth understanding how the two sizes differ, because they are not the same fan with longer blades. The 1200 mm model runs fast at 380 RPM and gets its punch from speed. This one runs slower, at 285 RPM, and gets its airflow from reach. In practice the 1400 mm is the calmer fan of the two: less blade noise, no whistle at the tips, and a broader, softer column of air. It also draws only 60 W, which is less than its smaller sibling.

Ceiling height matters more at this size. A 1400 mm fan wants clear space around it and a proper drop from the ceiling, so check that the blades will sit well below any beam, curtain track or high cupboard before you commit to the spot.

The pack is complete for a standard installation — motor unit, three blades, downrod, shackle kit, canopy set and the manual. If the room you are fitting is a bedroom, study or small living room, the 1200 mm Rapid Air Sweep is the better match and the more economical buy.
