Description
The Philips HD1182/28 is a dry iron — no water tank, no steam, no scale. That is the whole proposition, and for a lot of households it is the right one. A steam iron needs filling, emptying and descaling, and it will eventually spit minerals onto a white shirt. A dry iron has none of those failure modes.
The 1000 W element gets the soleplate to temperature quickly, and the temperature-ready light tells you when it is there. Between them, that means the iron is usable for a single shirt before work, rather than something you only get out when a full basket has accumulated.
Temperature is set on one rotary fabric dial. There is nothing to learn and nothing to configure, which matters for an appliance that is often shared across a household and used by whoever needs it.
The cord winder is the detail that decides whether an iron gets put away properly. The cable winds onto the body, so the iron stores as a single tidy unit and the flex is not left to knot itself in a cupboard. In stock in Malé.
