The Sonifer SF-9550 is the higher-capacity clipper in Sonifer's cordless range, and the 1,200 mAh battery is the reason to choose it. Most trimmers at this level carry 600 mAh; this one carries double, rated at more than 90 minutes of running per charge. If you cut your own hair or your family's, that is the difference between charging before every session and charging once a month.

The LED display is more useful than the usual charging light. It reports an actual battery percentage, so you can tell before you start whether there is enough charge to get through a full haircut — which is exactly when you want to know.

Six replaceable heads come in the kit, alongside four guide combs. Swapping the head rather than only the comb is what makes this work across beard, hair and moustache: the head changes how the blade cuts, not just how far it sits from the skin. The blades are stainless steel, so they resist corrosion and hold an edge through regular use.

The housing puts metal through the working parts with a plastic body, which keeps it feeling solid in the hand without the weight becoming tiring over a long cut. Charging is over USB from any source.

Two honest notes. Sonifer does not publish a waterproof rating for the SF-9550, so clean the heads with the included brush rather than rinsing them under the tap. And we have seen a reseller listing quote a shorter runtime than Sonifer's own figure — the specification above is the manufacturer's, and real-world runtime always depends on hair thickness and how hard the motor is working.
