The Usha Apollo LX is the fan you fit when you want the thing to simply work for years. It is a straightforward 1200 mm three-blade ceiling fan with no light, no remote and nothing to go wrong — a copper-wound motor turning at 350 RPM on 74 W, and blades pitched to throw air wide.

The blade geometry is where Usha put the engineering. A high lift angle spreads the air across the width of the room rather than dropping it in a cone under the fan, which is why the Apollo LX feels effective from the edge of a bed or the far end of a sofa, not only from directly underneath.

The low-voltage behaviour is worth knowing about. Usha specifies the Apollo LX to hold its performance when the supply sags, and supply does sag — every time a compressor or a pump starts on the same circuit. A fan that slows down every time the AC cuts in is a fan you notice; this one is built not to.

At 1200 mm this is the bedroom-and-study size. It suits rooms of ordinary proportions with a normal ceiling height, and it mounts on a standard downrod so it goes onto an existing ceiling point. For a hall or an open-plan living and dining room, the larger 1400 mm Usha Apollo EX is the right fan instead — a different model in the same family, not simply a longer-bladed version of this one.
